Jim Shedd, Chief Executive Officer - Tanzania

Mr Shedd graduated in business from the University of Maryland, USA, and after serving as a combat engineer and productivity analyst in the US Armed Forces, has spent the last 20 years in the mining industry specialising in general mine, turnaround and productivity management.


Mr Shedd also holds an MBA from Regis University, Colorado, USA. He has lived and worked in over 14 countries worldwide including Tanzania, Indonesia and Australia. His last positions have been in Indonesia, Senegal and Western Australia as a performance improver in mines on behalf of McKinsey Consultants.


 Mark McAndrew, Chief Operating Officer - Tanzania

Mr McAndrew is a Mining Engineer with over 38 years of experience in delivering strategic results in mining operations across the globe. He has held numerous senior management positions in the mining industry prior to establishing Optimine Pty Ltd, which has operated successfully since 1996. Optimine assists companies to target profitability in new and existing mining enterprises through the introduction of the most appropriate and innovative mining practices with an emphasis on maximising efficiency from concept to production.

Mr McAndrew has extensive technical, operational and managerial experience in mining enterprises throughout Australia and offshore in Indonesia, Venezuela, New Caledonia, New Zealand and Tanzania, working in both contract and owner-managed projects and operations. He brings to the IEC Board valuable experience in setting up new mines and targeting existing mines with efficiency standards that match world’s best practice. He has achieved this across all areas from mine planning to production, maintenance, commercial, administration and management, resulting in more efficient and cost effective operations.

Kerry Angel, Group Financial Controller - Tanzania

Kerry completed an accounting and business law degree at Curtin University in Perth in 1990 and is a member of CPA Australia and the Governance Institute of Australia. Kerry has worked in chartered accounting and for the last fifteen years prior to joining IEC, with various mining and mining services companies in financial management positions.  Kerry has five years’ experience as the CFO/Company Secretary for several ASX listed exploration companies operating in Australia and overseas. 

Emmanuel Constantinedes, Head of Marketing and Sales - Tanzania

Emmanuel is responsible for the administration of Tancoal in Tanzania. Based in Dar es Salaam, Emmanuel is working closely with the executive team to secure customer contracts in Tanzania and neighbouring countries.
